Joseph Amos, M.D.

Dr. Joseph Amos is board certified in pain medicine, physical medicine, and rehabilitation by the American Board of Medical Specialties. He focuses his practice on interventional pain management and comprehensive pain management.

A magna cum laude graduate of Texas A&M University in biochemistry, Dr. Amos received his medical degree at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. He completed his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the Baylor College of Medicine/UT Health Alliance for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, where he was named chief resident. Following this, Dr. Amos completed his ACGME-accredited fellowship in pain medicine at the University of Washington in Seattle. Before joining Mischer Neuroscience Associates, he was in private practice serving the Houston community.

Dr. Amos is an expert panelist in pain management for the Texas Medical Board. He is also an active member of the Spine Intervention Society, American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, North American Neuromodulation Society, Texas Pain Society, Texas Medical Association, and Harris County Medical Society. Dr. Amos received numerous awards and recognitions during his academic training. He has contributed to research published in the Journal of Biology and Chemistry, Journal of Virology, Cell, Journal of Genetics and Development, and Developmental Genetics.

He uses a multi-disciplinary approach to create a thorough treatment plan that provides comprehensive pain care to improve his patients’ function and quality of life. He has a particular interest in the following disorders:
