Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation is a treatment method designed to facilitate recovery after a serious injury, illness, or surgery. It is aimed at restoring the physical, sensory, intellectual, psychological, and social functions of the patient.

Interventional Pain Management

It is a method of pain control involving the use of specialized per-blocking techniques to enable you to perform your routine activities of daily living and maintain quality of life.

Complex Regional Pain Syndrome

Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) is a chronic pain condition characterized by severe pain, swelling, and changes in the skin. It usually affects the arms, hands, legs, or feet.

Neck and Low Back Pain

Neck pain may occur from muscle strain or tension from everyday activities including poor posture, prolonged use of a computer, and sleeping in an uncomfortable position.

Radiculopathy

Radiculopathy is a condition where a nerve root in the spine is compressed, producing pain or weakness across the whole length of the nerve. It is sometimes referred to as a pinched nerve or sciatica.

Comprehensive Pain Management

Pain may be temporary or persistent. Pain that lasts several months is called chronic pain. Advanced pain management techniques may be recommended for severe chronic pain.

Musculoskeletal/Myofascial Pain Syndromes

All of us have experienced muscle aches and know that they do not last more than a few days. Some however can develop a condition called myofascial pain.

Post-Laminectomy Pain Syndrome

Post-laminectomy pain syndrome or failed back syndrome is a term used to describe poor results from previous spine surgery. The main goals of spine surgery are to relieve pain and improve spine stability.

Sports-Related Pain

Sports injuries occur when playing indoor or outdoor sports or while exercising. They can result from accidents, inadequate training, improper use of protective devices, or insufficient stretching or warm-up exercises.

Minimally Invasive Lumbar Decompression (MILD®)

Minimally invasive lumbar decompression or MILD® is a procedure developed by Vertos Medical to treat lumbar spinal stenosis by relieving pressure on the spinal nerves.

Superion

Superion®, a product of VertiFlex, Inc., is an FDA-approved, minimally invasive procedure to treat lumbar spinal stenosis.

Spinal Cord Stimulation

Spinal cord stimulation is a procedure used for the stimulation of specific segments of the spinal cord through electrical signals, generated by a spinal cord stimulator. It is used for the management of chronic pain in arms and legs that has not responded to conventional modalities of treatment.

Lumbar Stenosis

Lumbar stenosis is the compression of spinal nerves caused by the narrowing of the spinal canal. It is one of the common causes of lower back pain. Spinal stenosis can also affect the spine in the neck region.

Vertebral Compression Fractures

Back pain is an indication of stress fractures known as vertebral compression fractures. Vertebral compression fractures occur when the normal vertebral body of the spine is squeezed or compressed. The bone collapses when too much pressure is placed on the vertebrae, resulting in pain, limited mobility, loss of height and spinal deformity. In very severe compression fractures, the back of the vertebral body is pushed into the spinal canal and pressure is placed on the spinal cord.
